It is with a sadness that we inform members of the passing of William Robert Slow. (Bill)
Bill held the position of Club President from 1972 till 1985 and was awarded life membership during that time. Due to health reasons in the 80s, Bill & Shirley left the Illawarra and moved to Lockheart which is part of the Riverina area in NSW.
Bills final days were spent in a Narrandera Nursing home with his family by his side, where he had recently celebrated his 85th birthday.
As you may be aware licenced Venus are permitted to open from the 1st June for 50 people.
As I informed recently we took the opportunity to renovate internally and this work is still ongoing.
Due to the short notice period government has given on easing restrictions these renovations are not yet complete.
Your Club is working hard to open as soon as possible within a safe environment and under the guidelines of Covid19 and appreciates your patience, kind words and continued support.
The Covid19 pandemic has had a severe impact on the Hospitality industry and seen venues closed for some months.
Bellambi Bowling Club has used this time to rejuvenate its venue and put itself in a positive position for when restrictions are lifted. The current directive that cafes and restaurants can seat 10 patrons at any one time and continue to provide takeaway sales dictates that it is not a commercially viable proposition for our venue.
It is the Clubs intention to serve the Community in a safe way and envisages that it will be able to open again shortly when the government further relaxes its restrictions on patron numbers.
